On Saturday 18th May, 15 brave members of the Windsor Integrated Services Group, of which WCRS is part of, took part in Nuclear Races, an ultra-muddy, super challenging muddy assault course to raise money for local charity Saint Francis Hospice.

The 7k course consisted of over 50 obstacles which wasn’t short of muddy trenches, fast and furious water slides (including the infamous death slide), high climbing obstacles and generally lots of MUD!

It is fair to say the course was a challenge for all, but all members of the team dug deep, helping each-other along the way and made it through claiming their survivor’s medal at the end! All members of the team beat the average time for the whole event of 2hrs 45 mins for men and 2 hrs 58 mins for women, with the fastest of the group coming in at 1hr 38 minutes, so a fantastic achievement by all.

The team have currently raised £990.00 for Saint Francis Hospice which is 99% of £1000.00 target and there is still time to donate.

Saint Francis Hospice is a leading provider of palliative care for people living in Havering, Brentwood, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham, caring for people from 18 years of age, who have a life limiting illness due to cancer, heart disease, motor neurone disease or respiratory disease and providing physical, spiritual and emotional care and support to patients and their families.
